Doritos lit up Super Bowl LIV with a dance-off between Lil Nas X and Sam Elliott to the former’s hit song “Old Town Road”.
To get everyone in on the action, we created the first AI dance challenge that turns deepfake into dancefake.
Role and Technology
I helped concept the idea and acted as the technical liaison and lead between the agency and UC Berkeley research team behind the AI-based motion transfer technology. The AI learns how a person moves through video recordings of him/her doing various gestures and poses, and then manipulates the model it’s created of that person to move (or dance in this case) in ways they never could’ve imagined.
